We’re in love with camp around here, and want to help as many kids fall in love with camp as possible. To that end, we’re partnering with a church in Kiev, Ukraine to send one urban Ukrainian child to a day-camp for every camper who attends Camp Preo or Camp Olivet this summer. Your child’s registration cost will cover a great week at camp for both your camper and one over five thousand miles away.

Summer camps are not new to Ukraine. The Communists took children to camp every summer. They knew how lasting early influences can be. Since freedom came to Ukraine, local churches have been more than willing to fill the void left by the absence of state-funded summer camps. This ministry to children, especially in the villages, is met with an
overwhelming response. It is the highlight of their summers. Children are often left to entertain themselves as parents go off to work. Parents of children in the church and those outside the church often want to send their children to camp, but sometimes money gets in the way. Through a partnership between these churches and ECC Camps, the registration cost for each Preo and Olivet camper will pay the way for a Ukrainian child to attend camp this summer as well.
